You can get to Uist by sea or by Air.  There are 4 different ferry crossings to Uist and an airport on the Isle of Benbecula.

Berneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist & Eriskay are all linked by causeway.

 

 

Uig to Lochmaddy

1hr 45mins ferry crossing the beautiful Minch from Uig in the Isle of Skye to Lochmaddy in North Uist

Once in Lochmaddy An Taigh Soilleir is approximately 40 mins drive through the Isle of North Uist and Benbecula.

 

Mallaig to Lochboisdale

This is a longer ferry journey at 3 hours and 30 minutes from Mallaig to Lochboisdale .

Once arriving in Lochboisdale An Taigh Soilleir is a 25 minute drive North through the Isle of South Uist

Leverburgh to Berneray

A 1 hour ferry journey through the Sound of Harris from Leverburgh on Harris  to Berneray.

 On disembarking from the ferry it is approximately 1 hours drive to An Taigh Soilleir.

Fly to Benbecula Airport

The central island in the Southern Isles chain is Benbecula which is home to Balavanich Airport.

The airport operates several flights a day with direct flights from Glasgow and Stornoway airports. The routes are operated by Logan Air.

An Taigh Soilleir is a short 15 mins drive from Balavanich Airport.
